I’ve been thinking how I want to expand BoardingList and what things I want to add, what can be improved and what direction I want to head. Now the app is completely, free, it only works for the iPhone. In order for it to endure, it needs to be self sustaining. It needs to at least cover its cost. Now I could charge for the app, but I don’t think that is a valid option, the main reason for me, is I don’t believe in the Codex tax....
I had originally planned to use no characters in my boarding actions list, after a few games I decided I need to add a character to round out the list. I had previously purchased Marneus Calgar, which now Games Workshop has announced a new model, which has the arms in the pose I had modified the current/old model into (I hated the arm in the air). At 200 points I had ruled this out as too expensive**, the other models I had was Lieutenant Titus and the other Space Marine characters we’re already painted in other Chapters, mostly Salamanders....
I was recently at Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 Boarding Actions Into the Breach matched play event at Warhammer World. Overall I have to say it was a great experience. From the app perspective, it was a brillant way to stretch its legs. I created a list for each player in the tournament, which was super quick and easy. It did of course uncover a few bugs, for example, I couldn’t include the Warboss in Mega Armour in David Wood list and I couldn’t even include Tom Cox’s Deathwatch list....
Boarding actions is a game mode for Games Workshop hit Warhammer 40,000. Boarding actions is a simplified version of the traditional 2,000 point game, limited to just 500 points with numerious unit restrictions, swapping tanks and monsters for close quarters corridor action. “Boarding actions is a fun 500pt format with limitations to army construction to aid balance and enable the game to work well with the terrain etc. As a game it’s pretty quick, engaging and a very fun way to play....
Tyranids Screamer Killer
When having a game of Warhammer 40,000, you build your army list and you’re suppose to share your army list with your opponent before battle commences. The idea is to provide transparency in what units you are using. Games Workshop provides templates that can be used that can be downloaded for free from Warhammer Community. One of the problems with doing this is WHEN. If you share just before you start the battle, if you, or your opponent is unaware of the opponents army, its the equalivate of sharing nonsense....
With Games Workshop’s masterful release of the tenth edition of it’s popular tabletop game, Warhammer 40,000 they have elegantly ended the Wahapedia era. Wahapedia, for those unaware was a popular website that provided easy, free access to the complex labyrinth of rules required to play the game. Even seasoned players who’s personal libraries containing a plethora of codexes, GT books, addendums and other tomes find themselves using Wahapedia as a reference source....

Finally got round to painting my TTCombat container, I took out one of the panels and used some left over sprue that I bent to look like the genestealer was bursting out.
Back in September 2021 I started getting back into Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe after a long stint of being out of the game due to other more important life commitment taken over. I started by collecting the hideous, insectoid xenos Tyranids which I decided to plan in the traditional Genestealer colours of blue and purple.
